Fred Horch

Sustainable Practice Principal

Fred Horch is a principal of Sustainable Practice, a partnership dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and sustainable living practices. Fred brings years of experience in environmental advocacy and community organizing to the Earth Day Festival.

As a co-founder of Sustainable Practice, Fred is passionate about creating opportunities for communities to come together and learn about ways to protect our environment and live more sustainably.

Peggy Siegle

Sustainable Practice Principal

Peggy Siegle is a principal of Sustainable Practice, working alongside Fred Horch to present the Earth Day Festival in Brunswick. Peggy's commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement drives the Festival's mission.

Through Sustainable Practice, Peggy helps create educational opportunities and community events that inspire people to take action for environmental protection.

Kat Hand

Festival Coordinator (Interim)

Kat Hand is the interim coordinator for the Earth Day Festival in Brunswick. Kat is responsible for coordinating Festival logistics and ensuring that the festival runs smoothly.

"I've always been a list person from the time I was little until my adult years," Kat writes, "and always love being able to cross an item off of a to-do list. I thrive on organization and plans, and love figuring out a concise way to present information, create a new process or even train my colleagues on my knowledge base."

Ema Mareckova

Digital Engagement and Social Media Intern (Nov 2025 - Jan 2026)

Internship sponsored by United Way of Mid Coast Maine

Ema Mareckova served as the digital engagement and social media intern for the Earth Day Festival. Ema helped with the Festival's online presence, social media accounts, and digital communications.

Ema's work helped ensure that community members could easily find information about the Festival and get involved.
