Participating as an Organization
Non-profit and government organizations are welcome in multiple ways. If you can staff your space (or recruit volunteers), we strongly encourage you to offer a fun activity. If you cannot staff a full table or tent, you are still welcome to participate by sharing information and opportunities with attendees.
Fun Activities
If your organization can staff your space, this is our preferred option. Plan an engaging activity and promote it to help bring people to the Festival. If your activity duplicates what another organization is doing, we'll put you in touch so you can coordinate. Organizations that promote the Festival and provide a fun activity are eligible for a share of Festival profits.
- Face painting or art projects
- Hands-on practical demonstrations
- Quizzes or contests with prizes
- Yoga, dance, tai chi
Standard Activities
If you are not able to run a fun activity, you are still welcome to join us and be part of the day. We can provide space on an as-available basis, and you may share a table or tent space with another organization. Standard activities are not eligible for profit sharing.
- Handing out literature
- Political speeches or petitions
- Static displays
- Mailing list sign-up or donation solicitations
If my non-profit organization wants to sell items (such as books, t-shirts, etc.), is this allowed as part of the activity and attraction we bring to the Festival?
As long as your board signs off on your participation at the Festival as advancing your primary charitable or educational purpose, your non-profit can sell items and solicit donations at the Festival. We are providing free tables and tent spaces to the non-profit community so you can achieve your mission, which we understand requires raising funds. For-profit businesses, including those that choose to exhibit, are paying the expenses to produce and promote the Festival so that non-profit organizations can better serve our community and help us protect our natural environment.
Additional Ways to Participate
If your organization cannot staff a full table or tent, you can still participate by sharing information with attendees.
We provide a table for handouts, plus a board where organizations can post volunteer opportunities and community members can share that they are looking to volunteer.
We also publish an Earth Day Every Day Resource Guide for Brunswick & Beyond on the Festival website. Every organization that participates in the Festival is featured in this guide all year.
Sharing Festival Profits
Our intent is to operate the Festival at a profit and give away 99% of those profits to the fun-delivering non-profit organizations who help make the Festival a success. At least one week before the Festival, your organization will receive a confirmation whether your planned fun activity and promotions qualify you for profit sharing. After the Festival, profit shares will be calculated by taking the total income from the Festival, subtracting all expenses, multiplying by 99% and then dividing by the number of non-profit organizations that provided fun activities. If you decide to decline your share, your portion will be donated to the Brunswick School Department or the Town of Brunswick. If the Festival operates at a loss, there will be no profits to share.
Apply to Participate
Applications are still open for non-profit and government organizations.
The February 28, 2026 deadline for guaranteed Festival space has passed, but we are still accepting applications. We will do our best to accommodate everyone and create a waiting list if needed.
