Festival Poster Art Contest

Every year we have a contest to design the art for the Festival poster. Here are the winning entries in each age category for our 2026 contest.

The Day When I Helped the Earth by Greta Glass — a child's drawing of a girl among trees, flowers, and a smiling sun

The Day When I Helped the Earth

Earth Day inspired me for this because I love the Earth, I love to pick up after myself, and I love to be nice to the Earth. This is a picture of me cleaning up trash in the forest. Thank you!

Earth Coyote by Terrianne Demmons — a drawing of a coyote cradling the Earth with a butterfly on its nose, surrounded by leaves and sunshine

Take the Road to Redemption by Molly Gerding — a watercolor painting of geodesic domes filled with greenery against a dramatic sky

"Take the Road to Redemption"

depicts a dystopian world where plants no longer exist except for in greenhouses with human-controlled conditions. It offers a warning for what could happen in the future if we don't preserve our natural resources and protect our plants from anthropogenic factors such as overgrazing or non-native species. However, it also offers hope in the ability of humans to preserve the natural world through the greenhouses and the road that leads through them.

Earth Day Collage by Jennifer J. Merz — a textured cut-paper collage of the Earth ringed by a diverse community of people, trees, animals, and cityscapes

2026 Earth Day Collage

My work is a handcrafted collage, made from cut paper. It shows our home, planet Earth, encircled by people of all ethnicities as well as animals, birds, butterflies, trees, flowers, and plant life. I've even included a few buildings since I want to encourage all communities, whether urban, suburban, or rural, to work together to protect the environment.

Calling all artists: we'll start accepting entries for the 2027 Festival poster art contest in September. We'd love to see your work!
