Questions and Answers
Where in Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School will indoor tables be set up?
Business exhibits and non-profit displays and activities will be in the gym.
Where will outdoor tents be set up?
We will have several areas clearly marked off where you can set up your tent. All tent spaces will have good visibility for people coming and going to the Festival, including everyone who participates in the All Species Parade. A map of the school grounds will be provided to all exhibitors and participants in early April showing the exact locations of all Festival elements.
Will I have the opportunity to give a free talk or presentation at the Festival?
Definitely, if your business is a major sponsor. Maybe, if your business is not a major sponsor. Free talks and presentations will be in the cafeteria. All major sponsors will have the opportunity to give a 15-minute talk or presentation in the cafeteria during the Festival. If enough time slots are available, business exhibitors who are not major sponsors will have the opportunity on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can I present a pay-to-attend workshop at the Festival?
Yes, a seminar room is available and reserved for high-value workshops. While general admission is free for the public to attend the Festival, tickets will be sold for workshops, which have limited seating. Five workshop time slots are available: 10 am, 11 am, Noon, 1 pm, and 2 pm. Proceeds from workshop ticket sales will be split 50-50 between the workshop presenter and the Festival.
When is set up?
Business exhibitors will have access to the gym on Friday, April 24, from noon to 5 pm, and starting at 7:30 am on Saturday, April 25. Outdoor exhibits must be set up and vehicles parked by 9:30 am to enable the start of the Festival promptly at 10 am.
As an exhibitor, how will my business be listed in the Resource Guide and Festival Program?
All business exhibitors will receive a complimentary "find us at the Festival" listing in the Resource Guide and in the Festival Program that includes their business name, logo, short description, and link to their website. For an additional $50 you may upgrade to a half-page ad (5" wide x 4" tall), and for an additional $100 you may upgrade to a full-page ad (5" wide x 8" tall) which will run all year in the Resource Guide and be included in the Festival Program.
How will business exhibits and non-profit displays and activities be organized in the gym?
The overall theme of the Festival will be "Seven Pathways to Sustainable Living" with Festival attendees encouraged to explore each pathway: Community, Food, Water, Movement (Transportation), Energy, Goods (Materials, Waste, and Recycling), and Habitat (Buildings and Land).
If my non-profit organization wants to sell items (such as books, t-shirts, etc.) do we need to rent a table, or is this allowed as part of the activity and attraction we bring to the Festival?
As long as your board signs off on your participation at the Festival as advancing your primary charitable or educational purpose, your non-profit can sell items and solicit donations at the Festival. We are providing free tables and tent spaces to the non-profit community so you can achieve your mission, which we understand requires raising funds. For-profit businesses, including those that choose to exhibit, are paying the expenses to produce and promote the Festival so that non-profit organizations can better serve our community and help us protect our natural environment.
