Nature Hikes and Bike Ride Risks
2026 Archive
The 2026 nature hikes and bike ride have concluded. This disclaimer remains online as an archive of the information shared with participants before joining off-site activities.
The nature hikes and bike ride left the Festival grounds and took place on public streets, sidewalks, paths, trails, and other areas not controlled by the Festival.
These activities are led by community volunteers, not professional guides. Sustainable Practice, the Earth Day Festival in Brunswick, the volunteers, participating organizations, sponsors, and the school are not able to guarantee your safety.
By choosing to participate, you understand and accept that outdoor walking, hiking, and bicycling involve risks, including but not limited to: uneven ground, roots, rocks, mud, slippery surfaces, weather, traffic, other cyclists or pedestrians, getting separated from the group, falls, collisions, equipment problems, illness, injury, or property damage.
Please join only if you are comfortable with these risks and are physically able to participate. You are responsible for your own safety, your children’s safety, your bicycle and equipment, and your decision about whether to continue or turn back. Bicycle riders should wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws.
By joining this activity, you voluntarily accept these risks and agree not to hold Sustainable Practice, the Earth Day Festival in Brunswick, its organizers, volunteers, participating organizations, sponsors, or the school responsible for injuries or losses arising from ordinary risks of the activity, to the fullest extent allowed by law. This notice does not waive claims that cannot legally be waived.
