The 2026 Earth Day Festival in Brunswick brought people together for a welcoming, educational, and fun day of local action. It created space for families, students, nonprofits, businesses, and local agencies to connect around practical ways to protect our shared environment.
The 2026 Festival was designed to be approachable, upbeat, and intergenerational, with activities for people who dropped in briefly or stayed all day.
Visitors explored hands-on activities, talks, music, art, food, and practical ideas they could carry into everyday life all year long.
Business sponsors and individual supporters helped keep admission free for the public and for participating nonprofit and governmental organizations in 2026.
The Festival is presented by Sustainable Practice using a community-powered model that supports organizations bringing energy, learning, and fun to the day.
In 2026, business sponsors and individual supporters made the event possible and free to attend.
Festival-goers explored exhibits, activities, talks, music, food, and special happenings—all free.
Nonprofit and governmental organizations provided activities, exhibits, and educational experiences that made the Festival memorable.
If Festival revenues exceed expenses, 99% of profits are shared among qualifying participating organizations that provide activities and help promote the event.
More details about participating organizations and profit sharing are available on the Participate page.
The Festival combined celebration, local knowledge, and hands-on experiences across indoor and outdoor spaces at the school.
Highlights included the All Species Parade, scavenger hunt, art projects, hands-on exhibits, and many ways for kids and adults to participate together.
Visitors learned from organizations, businesses, and presenters working on sustainability, transportation, food systems, energy, habitat conservation, and more.
Outdoor stations included bike tune ups, wheelbarrow races, garden activities, and other hands-on experiences around the school grounds.
Volunteer-led nature hikes also departed from the Festival at 11:30 am.
Food vendors, live entertainment, and a welcoming atmosphere helped make the Festival a celebration, not just an information fair.
