Fun Bike Ride

Roll out with fellow Festival-goers for a relaxed, volunteer-led loop around Brunswick—slow enough for conversation, easy enough for most riders, and a friendly nudge to pedal to the big day.

When and where

The Fun Bike Ride leaves at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School (44 McKeen Street, Brunswick) and returns to the school when the loop is done.

This is a slow-paced, easy ride for all ability levels, led by volunteers from the Bicycle Coalition of Maine and local cycling groups.

Participate at your own risk. Like the nature hikes, you are choosing to join an activity outdoors and on public ways—please ride within your comfort zone and follow volunteer guidance. Streets and paths can be affected by weather, traffic, and spring road conditions.

What to expect

You will get a little fresh air, stretch your legs, and see more of Brunswick in good company—without treating the day like a race or a training ride.

If your bike has been waiting in the garage, this is a low-pressure reason to tune it up, plan a safe route to the Festival, and make cycling part of your Earth Day.

Like all activities at the Festival, the ride is free and open to anyone who wants to join.

Before you ride

  • Bring a bike. The Bicycle Coalition of Maine will have a tent at the Festival where you can find a volunteer to help you make sure your bike is in safe working order: check your tires, brakes, and chain.
  • Wear a helmet and dress for the weather; spring mornings can still feel cool on a bike.
  • Carry water if you like.
  • Children should stay with a responsible adult and ride at a pace that fits their experience.
  • If you need accessibility details for getting to the meeting spot, see the Festival Program — Getting There or contact us.
